The Cassels keg range
The use of whole hops and the highest quality ingredients, coupled with traditional fermentation methods, lies at the centre of our tap beer keg and cask offering at Cassels.
The Cassels keg range includes our six Core Range beers – Lager, Woolston Pale Ale, Dry Hopped Pilsner, American Pale Ale, Nectaron® IPA and Milk Stout.
Our brewers are always striving for bigger and better things, so we also offer a range of seasonal beers that are ever changing. Some are one-off brews, some are repeat offenders, and some we love so much they may stick around for a while!
We are one of the few breweries in New Zealand that produce cask conditioned beer – known as “real ales”. Unfiltered and unpasteurised, you’ll find our real ales at discerning bars where they will be carefully dispensed to you via a hand pump.
What sets our ales apart from the rest is our commitment to attention to detail when sourcing ingredients and conditioning our ales.

Light Owl

While low in alcohol, our Light Owl beer has been brewed to maximise personality. Chinook hops bring a distinctive pine aroma which is rounded out by the citrusy, floral flavours of the Taiheke hops. A bit of alchemy in the brew as we tinker with gravity, the result being a full-bodied, big character beer despite the low ABV.
Woolston Pale Ale

Brewed on the banks of the Heathcote River in Woolston, Cassels Woolston Pale Ale is a traditional Pale Ale with distinctive New Zealand characteristics. This beer offers a combination of punchy hop flavours balanced out by a trio of malts. Late hopping with Nelson Sauvin and Motueka varieties brings fruity, wine-like aromas to sit on top of the lightly toasted malt base. Rich and rounded with a smooth mouthfeel - tastes just like home to us.
Dry Hopped Pilsner

Pouring brilliantly clear and pale golden; our Dry Hopped Pilsner exemplifies the finest in New Zealand ingredients. Motueka and Nelson Sauvin hops contribute juicy lime, sauvignon grape, and subtle juniper berry characters. The predominantly Pilsner malt-base provides a crisp body. Cracker-like flavours and sweetness, perfectly complementing the firm, bitter finish and refreshingly dry mineral aftertaste.
American Pale Ale

This delightfully fruity, aromatic beer gets its lead from the abundance of USA hops. A top fermented ale style, the tropical fruit salad and passionfruit flavours give way to a soft clean bitter finish. A very well balanced beer. Awarded the title, World’s Best Pale - American style Pale Ale at the 2021 World Beer Awards.

Introducing the Nectaron® hop from NZ Hops, bringing intense tropical fruit aromas to the party. This NZ IPA has been hopped at multiple stages through its brewing journey, mellow out all that hoppy goodness with the toastiness of NZ Ale Malt and Cassels' House Ale Strain and the result is the almighty brew you could soon have in your hand.

Pale golden with a lingering, white foam, this Lager’s as easy on the eye as it is on the palate. Subtle orange peel and mandarin citrus notes, mildly peppery hop flavour, and restrained bitterness; complementing a soft, bready, malt base and gentle sweetness on the finish. Lager is only available in 328ml bottles, in a 24 pack.
